AC Installations & Replacements

Should you replace your unit? Or will a simple repair be enough? Call a technician to find out if AC replacement is the better choice. An older air conditioning system (around 10–15 years old) that needs a lot of expensive repairs is probably better off being replaced. A new system will run more efficiently anyway, saving you money in the long term. We have a wide selection of AC systems to choose from, from traditional air conditioners to geothermal, heat pumps, and the lesser known newer technology, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF). We will even provide you with a temporary window unit should we be unable to complete the installation in the course of a day. If you are worried that your malfunctioning air conditioner may need replacement, turn the system off and call in an expert. Quality AC technicians will not recommend replacement if a repair is the better option. Trust our air conditioning installation experts to find you the most efficient air conditioner for your home and ensure that it is installed properly.

Regular, professional air conditioning maintenance helps to protect your central air conditioner from damage and breakdowns. But even with the proper routine maintenance, there comes a time when you will need an air conditioning repair expert to diagnose your system. Whenever you notice any problem with your air conditioner, such as a broken fan or an imbalance with the temperature in the home, give our talented team a call.

Dehumidifiers

We are no strangers to excessive humidity in Beaumont, Texas; in fact, it would seem that heat and humidity go hand–in–hand. Too much moisture in the air can lead to the development of mold and mildew, rotted wood, and added stress for your air conditioning system. Individual room dehumidifiers can help somewhat, but to fully address a moisture problem, your best choice is to use a whole house dehumidifier. One of the reasons for this is that a whole home dehumidifier is installed as part of your HVAC system. This means that all the air in your home is dehumidified, not just some of it. Additionally, you can set the level of humidity you want throughout your home easily right on your thermostat, because it will be equipped with a humidistat. Have questions about using a whole home dehumidifier? Call our experts today for service!

Energy Recovery Ventilators

As you can tell by the name, an energy recovery ventilator improves your home’s ventilation—but that isn’t all it does. An ERV uses heat exchanger technology to make good use out of your home’s stale air. Why? Your outgoing stale air contains useful energy that can be applied to the incoming fresh air drawn in by the ERVs fan. During the summer months, as the cool, dry, stale air is expelled, its energy is applied to the incoming, fresh, warm air. This action pre–cools and dehumidifies the incoming air. In the winter months, the opposite happens: your warm, stale, outgoing air pre–heats and adds moisture to the incoming air. How does this benefit you, your home and your HVAC? This improves energy efficiency, reduces wear on the system, and increases comfort levels. Could your home benefit from the installation of a energy recovery ventilator? If the answer is yes, give our indoor air quality experts a call.

Insulation

It doesn’t matter if you have the best heating or air conditioning system in the world, without proper insulation you’re never going to achieve the level of climate control that you want. Heat always attempts to flow from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration. That’s why your home is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Insulation is installed in homes because it greatly hinders the flow of heat between your home and the outside environment. Without it, your climate control systems would be unable to keep your home nearly as comfortable as they do now. Any adjustment you made to the temperature in the home would quickly be undone by the outside environment. Unfortunately, insulation doesn’t last forever. Heavy rain, water damage from leaky pipes, and even animal activity can damage your insulation and require that it be replaced. If you notice that a room in your home seems to have trouble maintaining a comfortable temperature, call Air Services Unlimited and we’ll come inspect it for you..
It’s possible that part of the insulation in your walls is too damaged or worn out to continue doing its job properly. Once we replace the insulation, you should be able to enjoy a comfortable temperature in that room again. Call us today to schedule an appointment with one of our technicians.

Professional Ductwork Services

Leaky ductwork can account for over 30% of your home’s total air loss. Leaky ductwork is fairly commonplace, but pinpointing the exact location of leaks is challenging. This is where duct testing comes in. When conducted by trained and certified experts, duct testing can help you devise a plan to remedy faulty ductwork, which helps you regain energy efficiency and comfort for your home. When should you have your ducts tested? If you suspect you have leaky ductwork, it’s important to have your ducts tested as soon as possible. Another good time to test your ductwork is when you are moving into a new home that has ductwork so you can assess the health of the system. Been in your home for a while? You should test your ductwork every 3–5 years. Leaky ductwork can create a host of issues for you and your home, but with professional duct testing by our trained experts, you can remedy these issues quickly. Call us today and see what duct testing can do for your home!

Duct Cleaning

Your ductwork can become home for a lot of different contaminants: mold, mildew, fungus, dust, dirt, bacteria—the list can get long. One of the best ways to make sure your ductwork doesn’t become home for these contaminants and more is to schedule air duct cleaning every 3–5 years with one of our experts. Professional duct cleaning involves far more than vacuuming the visible parts of your ductwork. Our experts bring a number of professional-grade tools to clean your air ducts, including visual aid equipment, HEPA vacuums, and the patented Rotobrush. As such, when you hire us to clean your air ducts, you can rest assured that every nook and cranny is reached and cleaned. If it’s been more than 5 years since your last duct cleaning, or you are moving into a new home with ductwork, call us and schedule an air duct cleaning appointment.

Duct Sealing

Duct sealing is just what it sounds like: finding leaks in the ducts and sealing them to increase duct efficiency. Right about now you’re probably thinking you could do that with a roll of duct tape. The thing is, duct tape is actually not suited for this kind of work at all. Ironic, isn’t it? Instead, we use a substance called “mastic.” Mastic is a kind of putty that we place into any leaks that we find. Once the mastic dries, it is stiff enough to keep the leak sealed but flexible enough to move with the ducts without cracking. Mastic sealant can ensure that your ducts are returned to a level of energy efficiency similar to when they were first installed. You should have your ducts sealed at least once every two years. New leaks are liable to form after a while, so you can’t just have your ducts sealed once and then forget about it.
